The contract for the review of the AES source code was awarded by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to Pro V&V of Alabama, USA. The source code review and “trusted build” activities are transparency measures meant to build trust in the AES. Is the EMS source code reviewed by Pro V&V the same EMS source code reviewed by local parties and groups? What assurances can Smartmatic, Pro V&V and Comelec provide the voting public that the EMS source code reviewed by Pro V&V is the same EMS source code reviewed by the local source code reviewers? Which copy of the reviewed EMS source code will be used in the AES in the 2019 midterm elections?
