Blenheim Palace in Woodstock is more than just a country home to distant royalty - its cultural institution, a major tourist attraction, and a stunningly landscaped estate. With the entire Blenheim Estate spanning about 12,000 acres, its no wonder the Times singled the gardens out as "best for impressive variety". The Secret Garden at Blenheim Palace (Image: Blenheim Palace) The birthplace of Winston Churchill is surrounded by the Formal Gardens which has incredible range of attractions and "reflect a journey through the styles of the ages" according to the palace. Beyond that is the parkland, which underwent an 11-year transformation guided by gardener Mr Brown's vision for the national, idyllic style of English landscape. Headed by gardener Andy Mills, the Blenheim gardens are currently undergoing a restoration to transform them back to their original 18th century designs.
