NEW YORK: A New York firefighter was killed overnight in an inferno at a Harlem building turned into a film set for upcoming movie “Motherless Brooklyn,” directed by and starring Edward Norton, officials said Friday. It had previously been the home of New York’s legendary St Nick’s Jazz Pub and the building is a designated city landmark. Firefighter Michael Davidson was a 15-year veteran,” Mayor Bill de Blasio wrote on Twitter. Set in 1950s New York, it tells the story of a private detective suffering from Tourette’s Syndrome, played by Norton, who tries to solve a friend’s murder. “City firefighters truly are the bravest in the world.” --AFP
