more-inKOCHI: Blaze engulfed the stair room of a private bank at Kakkanad on Saturday. The fire erupted from clothes and old furniture dumped in the room, which was used by security personnel. On seeing smoke billowing out of the room, locals alerted fire personnel. A fire unit from Thrikkakara doused the flames in half and hour. Firemen had to cut open the door to enter the building.
