The huge blast shocked nearby residents and some of them were also injured in the ensuing panic. It set up an operation centre for people affected by the blast and provided them with accommodation and food. The company said it has assigned more staff and specialists to study the blast site to find out what caused the explosion. One factor that has been suggested as having possibly triggered the blast is soil subsidence.
