BATHINDA/CHANDIGARH: Three people were killed and around 15 sustained burn injuries in a blast in Maur town of Bathinda on Tuesday, just four days ahead of the crucial assembly elections in Punjab.The blast took place in a Maruti Alto car (number PB05C8973) around 8.45pm. Some local politicians had joined the Congress a few minutes ahead of the blast. Those killed in the attack includes a nine-year-old boy. Maur is a suburb of Bathinda city.Senior police officers said they are not ruling out the possibility of an IED being used in the blast given its extreme intensity. Police officials said some people sustained injuries in the chaos that took place after the blast.The identity of the three people killed was not known immediately.
