Black students join forces to aim high, follow their dreams


The event, called Black Brilliance, was organized by students and strictly for students, with the support of their schools and the Toronto District School Board. “I didn’t really know where I stood in life,” says the Grade 11 student at Downsview Secondary School. “I’ve learned there are different ways of handling our anger inside and (countering) racism,” said the 16-year-old, halfway through the Black Brilliance event.
