Prostate cancer ranks as the second most common cancer and the fifth leading cause of cancer-related deaths among men. Remarkably, prostate cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in men in more than half of the countries worldwide. These include age – the older one gets, the higher the risk of prostate cancer, family history of prostate cancer, race, diet, obesity, and sedentary lifestyle. Black men worldwide have the highest incidence rates globally, suggesting that African ancestry may play a role in prostate cancer risk modulation. Men, especially Black men, are more likely to develop and die from prostate cancer than other populations.
