Episode 6 of the Black Hands podcast series released in July 2017 stated Mr Karam had accused police of planting a spectacle lens in Stephen Bain's bedroom in an attempt to help convict David Bain. Stuff and Martin Van Beynen accept that not only did a High Court jury find that no such statement had been made by Mr Karam in his book David and Goliath, but Mr Karam subsequently denied making such a claim in his subsequent books on the Bain case. Stuff and Martin Van Beynen regret that this was not made clear in that episode of the podcast and for any distress or embarrassment caused to Mr Karam as a result.
