Neesham had surgery for a compound dislocation on his left ring finger after he injured it fielding off his own bowling for Wellington against Canterbury in their Super Smash Twenty20 game on Saturday. New Zealand will host Australia in five T20s starting on February 22, with Neesham being a regular in the Black Caps T20 side against the West Indies and Pakistan last month. Neesham has been one of the leading wicket-takers in the Super Smash this season, capturing eight wickets at an average of 16.25 with an economy rate of 6.96 runs per over.
