President Uhuru Kenyatta has mourned former minister Nicholas Biwott as a generous man who was fully devoted to the education of young Kenyans. "From humble beginnings in Elgeyo Marakwet, he worked successively in the Ministry of Agriculture, Treasury, and in the Ministry of Home Affairs," Uhuru said. "He funded many scholarships, and never ceased to insist that young men and women take every opportunity to improve themselves." Uhuru condoled with the family, especially his wife and children saying Biwott was a principled man who believed in diligence and intelligence in his life.
