Blazing bitumen truck-and-trailer units drew nine Waikato fire crews in the early hours of Sunday. Three trucks and trailers were alight when firefighters arrived at the Hamilton Fulton Hogan depot about 2.30am. Firefighters used foam to put out the fire in Higgins Road, Frankton, Fire Northern Communications shift manager Daniel Nicholson said. A Fulton Hogan manager at the site was working with the fire service and was unavailable for comment.
