Bitter reality for shuttler Kian Meng

By Ferzalfie Fauziferzalfie@hmetro.com.myKUALA LUMPUR: "It’s true, I didn’t play well," said national mixed doubles shuttler Tan Kian Meng after he and Lai Pei Jing bowed out in two Super Series tournaments, the South Korea Open and Japan Open recently. "How I played in both tournaments is not the same as when I was in training,” said Kian Meng. "Maybe it happened because I was fixated on giving my best performance especially after we were promoted to playing at the Super Series level." Kian Meng-Pei Jing, currently ranked World No 10, hope to qualify for the Super Series Final in Dubai in December. The 2017 Malaysia Masters champions played in five Super Series tournaments this year: Malaysian Open, Australia, Indonesia, Japan and South Korea.
