Judge Md Atabullah of the Dhaka Special Judges Court-10 pronounced the verdict to all the accused in absentia and issued arrest warrants against them. The court further said the punishment of the fugitives will be effective from the day of their arrests or surrender. On November 3, 2013, Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) director Iqbal Hossain filed a case with the New Market police station on the charges of misappropriating money worth Tk15 crore 33lakh. Later, a charge sheet wassubmitted accusing the eight in 2015. The list of the accused included 13 people from Bismillah Group, 12 Janata Bank officials, eight Prime Bank officials, seven Premier Bank officials, five Jamuna Bank officials and eight Shahjalal Islami Bank officials.
