Lured by curiosity, I too spent a few hours of my life watching the new Netflix movie Bird Box over the holiday weekend. There was no middle ground, viewers either highly recommended the film or labeled it a shameful waste of talent. Bird Box is a horror film adapted from a sci-fi novel about an outbreak that spreads across the world causing mass suicides and hysteria. The protagonist, Malorie (played by Sandra Bullock), is pregnant when she is ushered into a safe house full of strangers after narrowly avoiding death. An early scene shows Malorie fleeing the hospital after witnessing a woman repeatedly bash her head into glass doors.
