The CEO of a biomedical startup company has been found dead in a flotation tank in Washington, D.C.Aaron Traywick was discovered floating face down on Sunday in a soundproof water tank meant to induce sensory deprivation, LiveScience reported. Traywick was head of Ascendance Biomedical, a company that seeks to create gene therapy treatment and immunizations for a variety of ailments. Ascendance Biomedical rose to notoriety when its employees began publicly testing its therapies on themselves. In February, on stage at the BodyHacking Con in Texas, Traywick injected himself in the thigh with an untested herpes vaccination. And in late 2017, another demonstration saw Tristan Roberts, who worked with Ascendance Biomedical, injected with another untested treatment — this time for HIV.
