The Biman Bangladesh Airlines plane that made an emergency landing at the Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong on Sunday, February 23, 2019 CourtesyThe case against hijacker Palash Ahmed was filed at Patenga police station on Monday nightThe case, filed for the attempted hijacking of a Bangladesh Biman Airlines aircraft, was transferred to the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) on Tuesday. CTTC Inspector Rajesh Barua was appointed as the case investigation officer (IO). Soon after receiving the case, a CTTC team, led by Rajesh, went to Shah Amanat International Airport and visited the scene of the incident. Also Read- Biman hijacking: No gun recovered from ‘armed’ suspectAccording to case details, passengers and cabin crew members of Biman’s Flight BG-147 saw suspect Palash carrying a firearm and a bomb-like material when he tried to hijack the aircraft. After the plane landed at Chittagong airport for a scheduled stopover, all 134 passengers and 14 crew members were evacuated safely from the aircraft.
