Billy Porter, the son of Cloerinda Ford of Englewood, N.J., and the late William E. Porter of Pittsburgh, was married Jan. 14 to Adam Smith, a son of Samilou Smith and Joe W. Smith of Searcy, Ark. Mr. Porter (left), 47, is an actor, singer and playwright. Mr. Smith, 35, is a co-owner of Native Ken, an eyewear company based in New York. The couple met in 2009 at a mutual friend’s dinner party at Sosa Borella, a restaurant that was in Hell’s Kitchen. After spotting Mr. Smith among those at the gathering, Mr. Porter — who may have had a hint of their future — made of point to seat himself next to him.
