Two months after his arrest during corruption probe, billionaire Saudi Arabian Prince Alwaleed bin Talal was released from detention on Saturday, family sources said. A Saudi official confirmed his release saying a settlement he had concluded with authorities was approved by the attorney general. Asked if the attorney general was convicted of the innocence of Prince Alwaleed, he said: "I will not negate or confirm what he says." Allegations against Prince Alwaleed, who is in his early 60s, included money laundering, bribery and extorting officials, a Saudi official told Reuters in early November. In the interview, Prince Alwaleed told Reuters that he was continuing to maintain his innocence of any corruption in talks with authorities.
