In a video interview with Reuters on Saturday conducted a few hours before his release, Alwaleed told the news agency: “There are no charges. If Alwaleed leaves the country and does not return to Saudi Arabia, the government has told Alwaleed that it will press charges and extradite him. A spokesperson for Prince Alwaleed did not respond to a request for comment. Much of that lies in his 95% stake in Saudi-listed investment firm Kingdom Holding, which in turn owns stakes in companies including Twitter, Lyft and Citigroup and others. Independent of Kingdom Holding, the prince also owns substantial real estate outside of Riyadh and other assets.
