Share TweetBy Vanne Elaine TerrazolaThe bill postponing the May 2020 barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections has hurdled the Senate on Monday. Senate Bill 1043 is the first bill passed in the Upper Chamber under the 18th Congress, garnering 21 affirmative votes and no negative votes nor abstention from senators. The next barangay and SK elections shall be held on the first Monday of December 2025 and every three years thereafter. Under the Senate-approved version, the elected barangay and SK officials shall assume office at noon of January 1, 2023.
