TACLOBAN CITY––The mayor of Almeria town in Biliran province tested positive for COVID-19. Mayor Richard Jaguros said he started to feel unwell on Sept. 17 as he experienced dry cough, fever, and loss of taste. Almeria is one of the areas in Biliran province that is experiencing a surge in COVID-19 cases. As of Sept. 24, the town has 86 cases of COVID-19 with five deaths.
