Bikers of all stripes came together Saturday to rev their engines in support of prostate cancer awareness. All proceeds from the event will go toward Manitoba prostate cancer initiatives. Roughly 1,400 bikers came together in Winnipeg Saturday morning for the eighth annual Motorcycle Ride for Dad. "Informing men and their families of the need for early detection of prostate cancer is one of the pillars of the Ride for Dad," Johner said in a statement. Organizers said that after donation totals Saturday, they were hoping to have raised $300,000 this year, bringing the eight-year total to $1.5 million for prostate cancer research and treatment.
