The upgrade of the Theatre Royal on Stafford St is one of the big ticket items for the Timaru District Council’s 2020-21 financial year. Other "high feasibility" projects including Timaru airport runway resurfacing and carpark upgrade ($830,000), Temuka pool upgrade ($1.3m), Caroline Bay Soundshell seating upgrade ($740,000), Temuka Domain development ($168,000), footpath renewals ($1.67m) and Redruth landfill cell ($175,000). Council would not supply a breakdown of the $25m worth of projects which were not among the “high feasibility” list.
