The retailer, founded by Chrissie Rucker in 1994, said profits were up 2 per cent in the year to March 25, on sales rising 7.6 per cent to £198.4 million. The solid sales growth came from its website and UK store estate that expanded last year. It opened its first US stores this year in 5th Avenue in New York and in New Jersey. Mary Homer, the chief executive poached from Topshop this year, said she was “proud” that the business was generating sales in stores and online and that it had started its “international journey”.
