Allan Laurie has big hopes and aspirations for Bushtown Waimate in 2018. "Bushtown has reached a milestone in the development having reached a point we have decided it is timely to recap, review and formulated a forward plan," the Bushtown Waimate committee chairman said. Bushtown Waimate is a historic sawmill and timber village that celebrates the district of Waimate. Laurie said the group had spent in excess of $30,000 to complete the project, with $20,000 spent on a viewing platform.
