The big names continue to dominate at the New Zealand bowls championships after most of the top players worked their way through the women's singles and men's pairs in Dunedin on Thursday. In the semis, Jeffcoat will play Inch and Smith will meet her pairs partner, Edwards. Ali Forsyth, Peter Belliss and Shannon McIlroy are all big names in New Zealand bowls – and all are through to the last eight in the men's pairs. Forsyth, skipping Gary Lawson, had a close shave 14-11 over Alan Veitch and Tony Wood in the last 16 and face the 2004 winner Mike Small, who is teamed with Barry Williams.
