Big Swim makes splash in Nova Scotia for first time

Participants in the Big Swim took to the water of Bras d'Or Lake on Sunday. It marks the first time in its 10-year-history the charity event has been held in Nova Scotia. There was no Big Swim last year but the previous eight swims crossed the Northumberland Strait between New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. Andrew Thalheimer swam the previous route in 2018 and his 14-year-old son, NIcholas, provided support this year. Swimmers and their support kayakers are shown on the shore before the 8 a.m. start.
