Yesterday, a trio of the Detroit rapper's albums officially earned sales awards from the Recording Industry Association of America. Effective February 2016, the RIAA album award methodology was updated to count 1,500 on-demand song streams or 10 track purchases as equivalent to 1 album sale. That decision retroactively granted Dark Sky Paradise platinum status. Nonetheless, I Decided is one of only six hip-hop albums released in 2017 to reach platinum status this year so far. 1, Anderson's second full-length to do so after Dark Sky Paradise in 2013.
