Big Save Furniture is coming to Timaru. Big Save Furniture confirmed to Stuff on Thursday its fifth South Island branch at 189 Evans St/State Highway 1, near the BP service station and Showgrounds Hill, will open on December 3. A company director, Lily Salter, said the Timaru branch would serve two purposes - a furniture and bed showroom and it would house its new South Island warehouse. ​Salter said Big Save is New Zealand’s largest privately owned furniture company. "My father (Ray McKimm) started Big Save Furniture in Paraparaumu in 1973."
