Big Save Furniture is coming to Timaru. Big Save Furniture confirmed to Stuff on Thursday its fifth South Island branch at 189 Evans St/State Highway 1, near the BP service station and Showgrounds Hill, will open on December 3. A company director, Lily Salter, said the Timaru branch would serve two purposes - a furniture and bed showroom and it would house its new South Island warehouse. Salter said Big Save is New Zealand’s largest privately owned furniture company. "My father (Ray McKimm) started Big Save Furniture in Paraparaumu in 1973."
