Big-Hearted Iowa Principal Gets Head Shaved To Back Up Bullied Student


When bullies targeted a sixth grader for shaving his head in support of his grandfather who has cancer, an Iowa principal decided to teach all of his students a valuable life lesson. Instead of outright punishing the culprits, Pekin Middle School principal Tim Hadley convened a special assembly on Tuesday. He then asked 11-year-old Jackson Johnston, who fellow pupils at the school in Packwood had taunted the previous day over his newly buzzed hair, to lop off his own locks. “We can handle this a couple different ways,” Hadley told KCCI. “We can bring in the kids responsible, we can pull out the handbook and swat them with it, or we can choose to make this a life lesson.”Video posted online shows Hadley talking to students, before Jackson steps up to do the honors with the clippers:
