The doctors at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) pronounced him dead when he was taken there around 10:45pm on Thursday, Shyamal Dutta, the editor of Bhorer Kagoj, said. Aslam was suffering from high blood pressure as well as other health complexities, he said. The editor of the daily said Aslam suffered a stroke around 8pm.
