South African golfer Christiaan Bezuidenhout got an extra Christmas gift this year as he received his Masters invitation for next year's Major. Bezuidenhout on Monday opened his invitation from The Board of Governors of the Augusta National Golf Club to participate in the 2022 Masters from 7-10 April. The Olympian will be competing in his third Masters at Augusta National after finishing tied for 40th this year. Looking forward to April," wrote Bezuidenhout on Instagram. So far, only six South Africans have qualified for this year's first Major: Bezuidenhout, Louis Oosthuizen, Garrick Higgo, Erik van Rooyen, 2011 Masters champion Charl Schwartzel and 2008 Masters winner Trevor Immelman.
