Better Northern Luzon weather with ‘Helen’ exitMANILA — Batanes province and other Northern Luzon provinces can expect improving weather soon with the exit of typhoon ‘Helen’ (international name ‘Megi’) from the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). “With such forecast exit of ‘Helen,’ Northern Luzon’s weather will begin improving on either Tuesday night or Wednesday (Sept. 28),” said PAGASA weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio. He said at present, no weather system is within or near PAR that can block the exit of ‘Helen’ so PAGASA is optimistic about prospects of better weather in Northern Luzon tonight or Wednesday. “Northern Luzon can experience isolated rains and weaker winds after exit of ‘Helen’ from PAR, however,” noted Aurelio. He also expects calmer seas off Northern Luzon after ‘Helen’ exits PAR.
