Best restaurant finds local ground is fertile


A Michelin-starred restaurant in Galway has been crowned the best in Ireland. Loam took the overall title at the Irish Restaurant Awards for 2019 last night. Having won for the Connaught region, it saw off competition from the other regional winners including Dax in Dublin, Eastern Seaboard Bar & Grill in Leinster, the Wild Honey Inn in Munster and Ox in Belfast. Aidan McGrath’s Wild Honey Inn won a regional award EAMON WARDLoam opened in 2014 and won its first star in the 2016 Michelin guide. Enda McEvoy its owner and head chef, uses ingredients from the west of Ireland and dishes change daily depending on the availability of produce.
