In 2024, it was listed among Lonely Planet's 100 best beaches globally, and in 2013, TripAdvisor users voted it the world's 10th best beach. Due to its isolated position, Rhossili Bay purportedly gained notoriety as a convenient location for smuggling activities. The historic building occupies an elevated terrace amidst the striking scenery, providing unobstructed vistas of the ocean and Worm's Head, the tidal island.
