KUALA LUMPUR: After months of attempting to drum up support via a nationwide tour, Bersih organisers have finally gotten their wish and with their supporters, will take to the streets today. The rival groups are expected to come in the form of the Red Shirts, as well as White Shirts and Black Shirts. The rally today will see the absence of several key figures from both the Bersih and Red Shirts factions. Bersih 2.0 chairman Maria Chin Abdullah was detained at the Bersih office in Petaling Jaya yesterday evening. It is unknown whether he will be remanded like Chin, or released to lead the Red Shirts, who have pledged to hold a counter-rally in the face of the Bersih demonstration.
