PETALING JAYA: Bersih 2.0 is taking the Election Commission (EC) to task for what it claims are new irregularities in voter registration, in addition to pre-existing voter registration mistakes. “Bersih 2.0 has found new inconsistencies in the registration of voters,” said Bersih 2.0 chairman Maria Chin Abdullah. “Voters from the same households have been registered in different localities, as well as state assembly and parliament voting areas,” she told a press conference at the Bersih headquarters in Petaling Jaya on Tuesday. “This matter has been presented to the EC many times … the EC claims to have fixed the electoral roll but every quarter, new mistakes have been discovered alongside existing errors, by the Bersih monitoring team,” she added. “I regret that the EC has refused to meet me and discuss the matter,” said Fuziah.
