This week Senator and leading presidential candidate Bernie Sanders unveils his eagerly awaited corporate reform plan. The Sanders Plan is, in other words, a set of reforms that will be literally as restorative as they are renewing of both the American economy and the society of which that economy is part. What needs doing is precisely what leaders like Senator Sanders are now calling on all of us to do. For similar reasons we should also heartily endorse Senator Sanders’ proposals in the Corporate Accountability and Democracy plan to complement ownership with immediate board representation. In sum, then, Senator Sanders’ Corporate Accountability and Democracy Plan offers a rare opportunity.
