Berlin High School Principal Kevin Carpenter presented the new course, called publications, to the school board in hopes of getting their approval to add it to the available classes for next year. During the course students will learn and practice journalism writing and production skills, and advertising sales; design and book promotion will also be emphasized. Carpenter noted that the main part of the course will focus on the school yearbook, yearbook supplement and senior video along with other publication being produced. Courtney High, an English teacher at Berlin High School and previous yearbook adviser shared the difficulties she faced trying to organize and complete the yearbook. The school board unanimously approved the new classes, which are scheduled to start next year.
