John Charles, MakurdiThe Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has said the state is not fighting a war with any ethnic group. Ortom stated this during the inauguration of 10 first-class chiefs at the IBB square, Makurdi, on Monday. The governor urged the people of the state to be law-abiding and restrain from reprisal no matter the provocation. He said, “Let me say that the state has passed through the crisis but we thank God for peace now. Let me emphasise here that we in the state are not at war with any ethnic group, the enactment of the anti-open grazing law was to ensure peace in the state.
