Benjamin Mendy has been out since September with a knee injuryManchester City defender Benjamin Mendy has suggested his own club has misquoted him over his prospected injury return. The £49m left-back, who has been out since September with a knee injury, questioned "where or when" he was quoted by Manchester City's social media as saying the derby against Manchester United was a "realistic aim". City attributed a quote to the 23-year-old earlier in the day that said: "The Manchester derby is a realistic aim. I think it's possible for me to come back in four weeks." Mendy, who joined from Monaco last summer in a then-record deal for a full-back, ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee after just five appearances, and he underwent surgery in Barcelona on September 29.
