Bengaluru school backtracks after parents allege segregation

more-inA day after a number of parents barged into a South Bengaluru school alleging that it was separating students admitted under the Right to Education (RTE) quota from their classmates, the school management shuffled all the sections for “better integration of students”. A senior official of Brigade School explained that class 3 students admitted under the quota had not been “separated” from the rest of the class. However, after a meeting with parents on Thursday, the school decided to do away with this practice. “After the school sends its reply, we will speak to senior officials and decide what action can be taken against the school,” he said. The parent of a class 2 RTE quota child said, “By Thursday evening, they had shuffled the students and changed the sections.”
