Bengaluru-Mysuru National Highway will be widened and will become an access controlled highway as the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has given out its Letter of Award to Dilip Builcon Limited to upgrade and increase the capacity of this highway. The estimated cost for the works is Rs 6,212.765 crore for this 117.30 km long highway between the two cities of Karanataka and is likely to be ready by June 2020. Presently, city congestion leads to slowing down on vehicular movement on certain stretches of Bengaluru-Mysuru National Highway. The bypasses will come up at Bidadi (6.994 km), Ramanagara & Channapatna (22.35 km), Madur (4.459 km), Mandya (10.04 km) and Srirangapatna (8.194 km). Apart from these bypasses, the Bengaluru section will get a 4.42 km long elevated corridor.
