Ben White has been brought into the England squad for the first time since he left the 2022 World Cup in Qatar for personal reasons. The Arsenal right-back has been called into Thomas Tuchel’s England squad after Jarell Quansah had to pull out with a left thigh muscle injury on Sunday. White won four England caps under Gareth Southgate and was part of the squad for the Qatar World Cup. With Kyle Walker and Kieran Trippier retired from international football, Reece James injured and Trent Alexander-Arnold not selected, there is an open competition at right-back ahead of this summer’s World Cup. As it is his first call-up since the 2022 World Cup, though, White will surely relish the opportunity to be back in the national team setup.
