England all-rounder Ben Stokes was sold to Pune Supergiants for a whopping Rs 14.50 crore in the player auction in Bangalore on Monday. However, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Daredevils soon joined the party before Pune Supergiants bagged Stokes with a bid price nobody else seemed inclined to match. Stokes' Rs 14.50 crore was the second highest bid price in the history of player auctions. The record is still held by Yuvraj Singh, who had fetched Rs 16 crore from the Delhi Daredevils in 2015. However, Stokes will not be part of the RPS set-up as he will have to leave the IPL midway to join England for national duties.
