Ben Stokes becomes first England all-rounder since Andrew Flintoff to be named world No 1

Ben Stokes is now officially the best all-rounder in the world following his extraordinary performance in England's series-levelling win over West Indies at Emirates Old Trafford. Only Steve Smith and Virat Kohli are ahead of Stokes while he has moved ahead of renowned batting duo Joe Root and Kane Williamson. Meanwhile, Stuart Broad, who was not picked for the opening Test, has returned to the top 10 after claiming three wickets in each innings. Broad, 34, is now England's top-ranked bowler, one place ahead of James Anderson, who was rested for the second match of three. He is the first Englishman to be the best all-rounder in the world since Andrew Flintoff (above)
