Ben Stokes admits it will be 'devastating' if England stars are shielded from playing in The Hundred

Ben Stokes has admitted it would be 'devastating' if England's Test cricketers were ruled out of The Hundred in a bid to shield them from Covid infection ahead of the lucrative five-match series against India. That follows the selection of entirely new squads by both the England one-day team and Kent's four-day side after positive tests. 'It would be very frustrating to not be able to participate in The Hundred,' said Stokes, who is due to represent the Northern Superchargers. 'We know how big a role players play in making a franchise competition big, and if the Test players were unable to play in it because of Covid, that would be pretty devastating.' The Decision Review System will be used in domestic cricket for the first time, while 'batter' will replace 'batsman' in the terminology.
