The 18-year-old signed for the Premier League club on a two-year deal in July but his government denied his application to defer his duties. If Davis evades service for two years he may face up to four months in jail. "Mr Benjamin Davis is a national service defaulter," a Ministry of Defence spokesperson said. The midfielder became the first player from Singapore to sign a professional contract at a Premier League club when he joined last summer.
