Ben Broadbent reappointed as deputy Bank of England governor


Ben Broadbent has been reappointed by the Treasury to serve a second term as deputy governor of the Bank of England overseeing monetary policy. The former economic adviser to the Treasury, who began his present role in July 2014, is set to remain in his post until 2024. There are four deputy governors of the Bank. Mr Broadbent, 54, was previously an external member of the nine-strong monetary policy committee from 2011. Before joining the Bank, he was senior European economist at Goldman Sachs, the American investment bank.
